Bishop Walter N. Simpson is the man of God and Shepherd of this house who teaches and preaches the unadulterated Word of God to the people of God every Sunday Morning beginning at 11:00 a.m. or when the Spirit of the Lord gives him a Word.
He started his pastoral ministry on Sunday, December 18, 1982, under the late Bishop William H. McDonald of Kansas East Jurisdiction and the late Virgil E. Watson, Fort Scott District Superintendent. He served as the Fort Scott District Superintendent for 12-years. He currently is Co-Founder under the Pentecostal Churches Independent of Kansas, started in December of 2013.
He earned his Doctorate of Divinity in 1980. He has served on the USD #446 - Independence School Board for 8-years, KASB Region 3 Elected Vice-President for 3 years, Police Chaplain for the Independence Police Department, Chaplain for Elm Acres for 3-years. Bishop has been a community activist.
Lighthouse Temple Ministries is the church in the heart of the city with the city in it's heart. Pentecostal (Holiness) background, we believe in the Trinity - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. We believe in the Five-Fold Ministry of some Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists and Teachers.
Our doctrine is the Holy Bible - King James Version. All people, of all backgrounds are welcome to come and fellowship with us. Many sheep which are not of this fold them I must bring.
